A practical middle path is better than slogans from either side.
Many people will read this and think it is just another manufacturing story. It is not. A single-crystal turbine blade is one of the most challenging aerospace components to produce. Moving from laboratory demonstrations to industrial-scale production suggests that India is gradually building the ecosystem needed for future indigenous aero-engines. That could have implications for fighter aircraft, helicopters, UAVs, and other strategic programs for decades to come.
This is ultimately a governance problem rather than a partisan one. The question is how to design institutions that remain democratic while encouraging responsible public policy.
